Ally & Josiah came to me with excitement for their day and beautiful testimonies of how Christ saved them. They wanted to make their day all about Him and his love and they succeeded. The gospel was shared during their ceremony beautifully. We are all separated from a perfect God by our imperfection, born into sin. God made a way for us to live with Him forever by coming into the world in the form of a man, living a perfect life we never could, and dying in our place. All we need to do is accept this gift by recognizing our imperfect state and accepting Jesus’s state as our own, and God will live with us forever, starting now.
The wind blew hard on this warm spring Ohio day, and I was reminded of the Hebrew word ruah, which means wind. In the Bible, we see this word is also used for God’s Spirit. While some might have perceived these hard and constant winds during the ceremony as unfortunate, I saw it as a blessing on the couple. I pray that God’s Holy Spirit would be lavished continually and powerfully like that wind on this couple and their lives as they bring up children who live for Christ and as they witness to the world of His saving love.
