Holy Beans! You’re Getting Married!

THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!

There are many wedding photographers to choose from and everyone does things differently. To give you an idea of what sets K Photography apart, I’ll share a bit about what K Photography couples can expect throughout their wedding planning process.

Before I go into the nitty gritty step-by-step stuff, let’s establish what takes a photographer from meh to PHENOMENAL!

1.Plan, Plan, Plan

The photographer will be prepared to capture the photographs and the people that are most valuable to the couple. But to do that, the photographer needs to help the couple identify exactly what that means and make a detailed timeline around what is important.

2.ask Good questions

Sometimes, couples don’t know what photos they’ll miss until it’s too late. If their photographer is asking good questions, the couple ends up saying, “Oh my gosh, I would have never thought about that! I’m so glad I have you!”

3.Client experience

No matter how pretty the lighting or how perfect the dress, if your photographer made you feel stressed during your wedding photos, that’s what you’ll remember when you look back at them. Some photographers have no “bedside manner” You’ll be comfortable with me by the time the wedding comes.

Step 1: Let’s Chat!

Just a 20 minute phone call. It can seem like a lot, but don’t sweat it! It can help you know what you can expect from a wedding photographer, help you solidify what your values and your priorities are, and what works and doesn’t work for you. You’ll be able to tell if your personalities jive. It’s in my best interest to make sure we have a good fit before moving forward too. I’m not here to hard sell you. I’m here to connect.

Step 2: Let’s meet up & Talk it through

It’s really important to meet your potential photographer in person. I’ll go through all my pricing options and get a much better sense of what will work best for YOUR wedding. It’s much easier to make a decision once you’ve heard your options and expressed your wants and needs. How many hours will you really need? Does a second photographer make sense? Do you already know you’ll want an album for you and your parents? From our conversation, I’ll be able to offer a custom package based on what makes sense for you.

Step 3

Sign Agreement +

Pay Retainer fee

Every good photographer is going to have a solid agreement/contract that lays out everything from payment schedules, what services are provided, as well as accounting for unexpected circumstances. If we feel this is a good match, signing the agreement and putting down a retainer will lock me in and you can officially check “photographer” off your wedding planning to-do list! PHEW!

Step 4:Planning your engagement session

What vibe do you two exude as a couple? Soft + Romantic, Zaney + Goofy + Weird? Awesome.

Not sure? I’ll help you. What ever the answer is, it is all about YOU.

Some photographers wait for their clients to tell them when and where your shoot will happen. However, when you hire a professional photographer, they should use their expertise to advise this planning process. I first find out if there are any special places my couples have in mind. If not, I send a questionnaire getting my couple’s gears turning on what season, type of landscape, what type of vibe, and what style of outfits would be the best fit. Next, I give examples of potential locations for them to choose from. Lastly, I send out a handy, outfit guidance sheet.

Step 5:Vendor referrals

Working with the right team of vendors can make or break your wedding planning and wedding day experience. I’ve got to know some top notch wedding vendors from planners, to florists, to hair + makeup, and custom wedding signage. When your wedding vendors keep to themselves, there can be disconnect and miscommunications, when they work as a team, magic happens and EVERYONE has fun!

As a K Photography couple, you’ll receive exclusive access to K Photography’s Select Vendors page to shop for all they rest of vendors knowing that I’ve personally worked with everyone. Not every vendor is a treat to work with. I am always surprised when I come across a vendor that doesn’t seem to care, is checked out, or rude to other vendors. Sadly, it happens, but I’ve hand selected these folks, so you don’t have to waste countless hours on Facebook, Google, or The Knot/Wedding Wire guessing.

Step 6:Timeline planning

I meet my couples about a month before the wedding either for coffee, drinks, or via Zoom to talk about the timeline of the day. Often times, the questions I ask will spark ideas, and help my couples identify how they want their day to go. So that I can deliver the best possible experience, I help my couples decide on their timeline to make sure I have ample time to get all the photos you’ll want, without you feeling rushed. Remember- your wedding day is meant to be enjoyed and it is about your joining your lives together. I am a huge advocate of keeping the traditions that actually matter to you, and scrapping the rest. Often, when couples feel conflicted, I am able to give advice based on my expertise that points them in the right direction. We will be in contact through out your engagement so stay connected. before this final timeline meeting.

Step 7: THE BIG REVEAL!

Come on in and view your wedding photos on the big screen in person! Photographs of this caliber warrant more than a little online link to digital files. (Although, you absolutely get that too with every wedding package)

When you arrive, I’ll have snacks and your favorite beverages waiting! Sit back, relax, and see your entire wedding day in glorious stunning detail. Then, I’ll show you the album I have pre-designed. Next, you’ll get to customize the album to your specifications, choose your cover material, color, and personalization. Decide on any wall art or additional prints and we’ll get it ordered and sent straight to your door.

There’s something special about holding your wedding photos in your hands. Many of my wedding packages include an Heirloom Wedding Album. It’s more than a picture book. This wedding album is meant to showcase your love and commitment to each other for generations. You can also choose prints and wall art to bring the wedding day right home with you. I provide an online gallery so you and all your people can relive the day. As a K Photography Couple, you’ll have access to download your images from this gallery as well.
