Locations Between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio

1-80 Overpass, Boston Trailhead, Peninsula, OH

Right near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, there is a very cool trail that goes under the I-80 Bridge. This is an interesting architectural spot anytime of year. Plus, the Boston Store and nearby historical structures make for some real variety without having to walk far. The bridge takes about 5-7 minutes walk along the straight trail from parking lot.

Downtown Cuyahoga Falls

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Downtown has some really unique and interesting buildings right on Front Street as well as just a short walk from there. This shoot was in spring, so utilizing the blossoming trees was a must near the riverfront.

Ledges Overlook

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio

There are SO MANY great spots inside the park, but the overlook ledges offers some really amazing views without walking far from the parking lot. From the parking lot, go left through the field and see the amazing overlook. Go right from the parking lot and you are 5-10 mins from some amazing stone structures. I even had MY wedding photos there!

Great Falls of Tinkers Creek

The great falls are pretty easy to access considering they are so grand! Located inside Viaduct Park in Bedford, Ohio, you can walk right up to the falls, or just keep them in the distance of your shot! There are also other beautiful parts of the park around the falls.

Idelwood Park

Twinsburg, Ohio

With easy parking and a bridge and wooded trail only a minute walk, this is a great spot for couples who just want some nature shots. And maybe for the “child at heart” types that want to play on the swings.

Locations In East of Cleveland

Mentor Headlands Beach

Mentor, Ohio

A very popular spot, this is a place that in the summer, will be very populated, but that doesn’t mean we cannot get some great shots! This is for the couple that doesn’t mind a hike in the sand as the spots photographed below are between 10 and 15 minute walks through sand from the parking lot. There is also plenty of tree areas for a variety of photos.

Penitentiary Glen Reservation

Kirtland, Ohio

This park has a beautiful manor that makes for a great backdrop, not to mention, a pond, and a secret patio with lattice. Great for shoots where we don’t want to walk far, but still want a variety. There is also a bounty of deep woods for those nature lovers who want to be surrounded by green!

Punderson state park

Newbury, Ohio

There are many beautiful elements to this state park including wooded and lake areas, but the one that drew us was the community fire pit for this s’mores themed shoot! You just have to make sure you get there before the camp store closes so you can buy your wood- you can only burn wood bought there for environmental reasons. Pick up your s’mores supplies there too while you’re at it!

Nelson Kennedy Ledges

Garrettsville, OH

The ledges are surprisingly easy to access from the parking lot. You simply walk across the road and you are surrounded by huge rock formations. The pines and field area behind the parking lot also offers a great backdrop to give your ledges shoot even more variety.

Edgewater Beach offers so many beautiful landscapes in just a small area. Walk along the beach with the Cleveland skyline in the background, visit the huge willow tree, Cleveland Sign, and walk out on the rocks at sunset for some amazing shots! So much variety. Be warned! There are usually MANY people crowded around. But we do our best to make it look like you’re the only two people in the world :)

Locations South of Akron

Quail Hollow Park

Hartville, Ohio

When I think of Quail Hollow I think “whimsy”. The historic manor house, stone archway, and beautiful gardens just scream it. ESPECIALLY whimsical in spring as many of the trees near the manor are flowering trees of pinks, whites, and fuchsia. PLUS, there are trails surrounding the area for those more “woodland” style photos.
